Why would any logical, rational person think that?
Because of a MOVIE?
Because of fake websites?
Because a lot of people know absolutely NO science and aren’t willing to do any research when a small group of people start a major hoax?
There is no scientific evidence of any kind that the world will end in 2012 – you can think what you like.
It won’t. It’s just another one of those end-of-the-world hoaxes. Some people thought it would end during WWII, 1984, 2000, etc. and we’re still here. I think nothing’s going to happen yet again and we all have nothing to worry about.
If it is based on the Mayan calendar, than the conspiracy has no relation to it whatsoever as the only thing they have predicted was the sun coming up and down. I face palm at these theorist. Through it all, there are even more conspiracies such as the web bot, I ching, hopi indians, Nosta fucking damus.
I find the 2012 scare to be very unacceptable in many aspects. I have spoken to children who are already talking about dying, dismissing their own young lives and not caring about their futures because their religious nuts of parents are all preaching this 2012 conspiracy. I curse them all.
Kevin don’t say that! I’m gonna be so mad if it does. Let it be known in 2012 Jesica will be pissed if the world ends. I want that to be everybody’s last thought.
i kinda believe that it will…i kinda think it won’t …..its like well you know never know the truth yet, but if the world does end then..you have about two years..i don’t know its kinda scary..i mean really scary… ): but don’t worry when the times comes im sure the goverment will tell us warn us or something..
One of several Mayan calendars is the Long Count calendar, which is reset to day 0 every 1,872,000 days or 7057.5 years. The next reset date, by some calculations, is December 21, 2012. This is not a prediction of the end of the world. Here is what a Mayan elder says on the subject: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091011/ap_on_re_la_am_ca/lt_mexico_apocalypse2012
These predictions are scare tactics, conspiracy theories, and chances to make money from books and movies.
Ever since the Y2K and 6/6/6 (June 6, 2006) End of the World scenarios did not pan out, the scare mongers, conspiracy theorists, book sellers, and television executives have been touting the 2012 End of the World scenario. When 2012 does not happen either, I am sure they will think of something else.
"But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come." (Mark 13:32-33)
Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready.
The early Christian Church thought that Jesus was going to return at any moment. Only after a couple of centuries did the Church realize that it may be 2,000 or 4,000 or 8,000 years before Jesus returns.
The Catholic Church wisely follows Jesus’ advice and teaches that each of us should live as if we will meet our maker in the next ten minutes and that we need to work to make the world a better place for our 100 X great-grandchildren.
Do not worry about the end of the world. Trust God to make sure everything happens to plan. Just be ready to meet God at any time.

No, no, no. It’s not going to end, a new period is just going to begin.

I think it will, unfortunately.
