It’s a HOAX.
Because it doesn’t exist.
It doesn’t make mass extinctions because it doesn’t exist. No scientist, past or present, has ever seen Nibiru.
Niburu is myth and hoax.
According to Zecharia Sitchin’s Book, Nibiru collided with a comet thousands of years ago, as a result a smaller part of the planet called Tiamat which is now known as the Earth was formed and thrown out of orbit; this means earth and Nibiru has the slightest chance of colliding with each other since Earth is now following its own orbit… if ever Zecharia’s theory were true and if ever these two planets collide it will
not be a mass extinction but the total annihilation not only of the Earth inhabitant but the earth as a whole considering the size difference of these two based on Mr. Sitchin’s book.
If there had been a mass extinction about 3600 years ago the Egyptians etc did not notice.
The reason why is that Nibiru does not exist.
Sitchin was a fraud. He claimed to be able to read ancient writings but could not.
