You are going to need a antivirus. i would strongly recommend using Microsoft Security Essentials. it is a great free antivirus software from microsoft.
If microsoft security Essentials doents find it, download malwarebytes anti malware and it will delete the virus.
XP Home Security 2012 can be removed by stop processes and kill all files with random name in the hard drives. The user also must remove the autorun setting added. These can be done by using Emsisoft HiJackFree. XP Home Security 2012 should be removed immediately!
YOu can take two routes. Pay for a program, less than $40 of course, and have it automaticly remove XP Home Security 2012. Some of the ones I have used with success are Spyware Doctor, SpyHunter and SpySweeper.
Here’s a site with complete, step-by-step instructions and links for free software you’ll need in order to clean your system:

The other route is manually removing it which you should do if you feel okay with editing the Windows registry. There are several files to remove and can be found on removal guides like: http://www.enigmasoftware.com/xphomesecurity2012-removal/ and http://www.spywarevoid.com/remove-xp-home-security-2012-xp-homesecurity2012-removal-guide.html. those both list all the files you need to find and remove.
